Mernda Scholarships
The promotion of excellence is an important part of the Gilson College vision and scholarships are one way that excellence across a range of areas can be promoted. Scholarships are available for current students and those applying for entry into the College.
Scholarship Program
Gilson College aims to nurture the overall development of each student. The Scholarship program at Gilson College, Mernda Campus recognises student excellence and includes opportunities across various elements of our student’s growth – Academic, Leadership and Co-Curricular. Scholarship recipients demonstrate excellence in one or more of these areas and commit to contributing to college life while supporting its Christian ethos.
The college offers a limited number of academic Scholarships to prospective and enrolled students each year.
Academic Scholarships are offered through ACER and you can read more details below. Successful applicants receive a 50% reduced tuition component of their school fees for the duration of the scholarship period.
All Scholarship applicants are required to complete an application form and sit the ACER Scholarships examination. Once results are received from ACER, interviews may be arranged with parents, the student and a school representative. Scholarship offers will be typically made within 6 weeks of getting the results.
Recipients of a Gilson College scholarship are required to maintain consistently high academic efforts and display College values through their behaviour.

Applications for 2024 scholarships are now closed. Applications for 2025 scholarships will open in early 2024.
