Role Description:

Seventh-day Adventist Schools (Victoria) Ltd is seeking a Head of Primary for Gilson College, Mernda Campus. This role commences Term 1, 2024 and concludes at the end of the 2026 school year. However, there is the possibility that this position will become ongoing.

Applicants will need to hold, at a minimum, a Bachelor of Education (with a Master of Education preferred) and have 5+ years of full-time experience as a teacher. Applicants with demonstrated skills in leadership and administration will have an advantage.

The Head of Primary will have a key role in leading significant areas and/or functions within the school to ensure the effective development, provision and evaluation of the school’s Primary Education Program.

Applicants will need to demonstrate that they:

• Are a practising member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a strong commitment to its mission.
• Have a comprehensive understanding of the Adventist Education system.
• Have a solid understanding of various learning and teaching strategies, understandings and skills in the area of Primary education.
• Can show a history of outstanding teaching practice with demonstrated administrative and leadership skills being desirable.
• Can foster and develop appropriate relationships with staff, students, parents and the wider church and school communities.
• Are willing to support the vision, mission and strategic goals of the school.
